Who is Rita Frelich?

Good question. I am a wife, a friend, a sister, and a daughter.

I grew up in a small town in southern Louisiana. I have always been interested in anything creative. Art, music, dance, photography, you name it I am interested! I always loved photography and was curious about it. I wanted to create beautiful images. I bought myself a 35mm film SLR camera when I was about 16 and begin snapping away. I took the camera almost everywhere with me. I thought I would never love a digital camera the way I loved my film camera. Years later as digital cameras became more and more popular I decided to buy a digital SLR. I was wrong, I loved this digital camera! I literally took this camera EVERYWHERE with me, snapping pictures of anything I thought was interesting. I soon started taking pictures of people, but by no means did I think I was a photographer or could ever be one. To me you had to have years of experience and a degree to call your self a photographer...I was a hobbyist/enthusiast.  I continued to practice and experiment with my cameras. Then one day, I was asked by another photographer who had seen my work online to second shoot a wedding with her. I jumped at the chance! After that first wedding I knew my life was going to change. I was now in love with wedding photography. I'll always be thankful for everyone who has supported me and believed in me on this journey. I feel very blessed to do something I am so passionate about. I absolutely adore photographing weddings. Beautiful moments just happen naturally at weddings, capturing those moments is what I strive to do.

What is Artography?

I have a background in graphic design and am able to use many of the same skills and techniques that apply to graphic design to photography, not only in the treatment and effects that may be applied to a photograph, but also in the custom designed albums, invitations, save the date cards, favor tags, etc. that I am able to supply my clients with. I feel like I can provide much more than photography services, which is why I chose to use the words Art and Photography together.

What areas do I serve?

New Orleans and the surrounding areas, but am more than willing to travel!
